As I was made aware of what was going on in Baltimore on April 27, 2015 I was deeply saddened. In an effort to wrap my mind around hate, brutality, injustice, riots, violence, looting, destruction of property and the like...I PRAY!
Some of the most awe inspiring people that I have ever had the honor to witness have sustained through some of the most seemingly insurmountable odds and did so with pride and dignity. More than mere sustainability and survival...they thrived and made such an impactful difference on the lives of so many because they lived by certain fundamental things like PEACE, HOPE, LOVE, FORGIVENESS...
How challenging must it have been for those who were met with violence but remained peaceful?
How challenging must it have been to see despair all around but remain hopeful?
How hard must it have been to look into the face of hate and still have the desire to love?
And after so many blatant injustices, how trying must it have been to extend forgiveness?
I can only imagine how challenging, hard and trying it must have been but these people did it! They achieved what many found, both then and now, to be impossible. It just makes me proud to know that faith, humility, dignity and honor were front and center in the face of adversity.
STAY SAFE, STAY WELL...STAY PEACEFUL!
