A MUST READ FOR LADIES THAT LEAD!!!! THE BOSS NETWORK!!!

Ever heard of The BOSS NETWORK(The Bringing Out Successful Sisters Network)?

If not I encourage you to get familiar! Why? Because you are a BOSS and the world needs you! Because you've always felt that a BOSS lives inside you and you want to surround yourself with other BOSSES to bring your inner BOSS out! In a nut shell...that's WHY.

On September 19, 2017 The BOSS Network brought the LADIES THAT LEAD tour to Baltimore and it was beyond AMAZING! First, let's talk location. This event was held at the EUBIE BLAKE CULTURAL CENTER.
I arrived early because you just can't side step preparedness! Know what I'm talking about? LOL While the BOSS team added the final touches to insure a great, smooth flowing, productive evening...I, like many others took out time to increase our knowledge about the life and contributions of the great EUBIE BLAKE. As I took in the imagery, as I read intimate details of his life and legacy I instantly recognized the feeling that was rushing over me...it was PRIDE in all of its splendor and
the night had only just begun!

5,4,3,2,1...The event has officially began and the LADIES THAT LEAD are pouring in! Fashionistas are in the building in full swish! Everyone is energetic, enthusiastic, excited about being surrounded by other like-minded individuals. It was infectious!

Beautiful women of color as far as the eye could see! Bloggers, Photographers, PR reps & more. Cocktails and yummy treats...I'M HERE FOR IT and I wasn't alone!!
Starting things off with a few crackers, a cube of cheese, strawberries, pineapples and a lemonade if you please. #KEEPITCUTE More deliciousness to come!

I made it my business to engage and encourage the masses to mix, mingle and solidify connections. Asking each BOSS, "What's your business?" and following that up with "You have a business card?" and just like that the networking was underway.

Names were being exchanged. Compliments were being given. Pictures were being taken. Ideas were being shared. New relationships were forming. It felt successful because when you have that many movers and shakers, leaders and bosses in one room...What else can it feel like but successful?!!

After the cocktail hour, we were all ushered to the upper level for the panel discussion we'd all been anticipating and let me tell you, IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! CEO & Founder of The BOSS Network, CAMEKA SMITH was front and center, ready, willing and able to lead this panel discussion and she did just that.

One by one she introduced the BOSS panelists:
JODY DAVIS-HONOREE CEO and Designer of the Jody Davis Brand
TANA M. SESSION-Career and Life Strategist
ANITA WASHINGTON-The Baggage Handler
ADRIANE WILSON MASSEY-Corporate Trainer and Strengths Coach
JENA L. BELL-Coach, International Speaker and Entrepreneur

...and they each shared their stories with courage, fearlessness and authenticity! It was inspiring. They shared how they went from being nurtured by their mentors in such a way that in time they became their mentors equals in business.

They each spoke about their challenges and how things that at one point devastated them like job losses, eventually revealed itself as a blessing making it possible for them to pursue their own aspirations and to redefine what it means to be successful. We were all locked in on their messages. We all saw ourselves. It was reflective. It was one great big "DON'T YOU DARE GIVE UP ON YOU!"

Educating us to recognize our worth, think first react second, remain the leader, be authentic, knowledge reduces fear and to stop listening to people who don't share your vision! Sharing messages that they would tell their 25 year old selves...messages like "It's going to be okay", "Don't settle", "You got this", "Save more money", "Make a plan and work it", "Don't be a chicken...JUST FLY"! So many women in that room admitted to being afraid a time or 10 about jumping out there and bringing their dreams to fruition but the panelists urged us all to BE AFRAID BUT DO IT ANYWAY!

I especially resonated with Jody Davis, a SUPER CHIC FASHION DESIGNER, who at one point was an entire team unto herself. She was the Designer, the pattern maker, the PR, the model and the seamstress. She made the impossible look easy and her tenacity made it so that she achieved so many of her goals & dreams, taking this world by storm and she's just getting warmed up!

I recall Cameka saying "I had 3 questions for Jody and before I could even ask one Jody has answered every single one!" We all laughed and celebrated Jody for her "go getter, let me tell you how it all went down" approach. It was awesome!

Every single panelist brought something different but necessary to the table. Some outwardly edgy while others...a quiet storm but what I enjoyed most about that was "There's no wrong way to eat a Reeses" if you will. LOL It just demonstrates that there's so many ways to make your dreams come true. There's no one pill cures all and there's no one way accomplishes all.

So many trials, so many errors, so many triumphs, so many defeats but through it all there's learning. Through it all, there's growing. There's believing and knowing. There's reaching back and paying it forward. There's the best of who you are. There's that valuable thing that you have that the world needs...if it is to become better.

There is support. There are so many people observing you and your journey whether you realize it or not. There are so many people out there cheering you on to victory because they understand that a win for you is a win for us all.

Go out there stronger, smarter, wiser, more empowered, more determined & more fearless...knowing that every step you take brings you one step closer to inviting the world to be a student of your MASTER CLASS!
