QUOTES

IN JUST 3 MONTHS...PART ETC.

I'm sure we're all familiar with the saying "ALWAYS A BRIDESMAID NEVER A BRIDE"...right?

RIGHT.

Well, I found that I was "ALWAYS AN EXTRA, NEVER A PRINCIPLE". Now no disrespect to background work...some have made their living that way and quite enjoy it but what if you're vision far exceeds background work? That's certainly nothing to have to apologize for, right?

RIGHT!!

But I digress. :)

I was on yet another set as an "extra" or as we say now BACKGROUND TALENT & as I was looking around I felt an overwhelming sense of discontentment. I mean...

"I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!! I'M TALENTED & I WILL NOT GO QUIETLY INTO THE NIGHT AND PRETEND THAT I'M SATISFIED SOLELY PLAYING THE BACKGROUND!!!!!"

ME: Did I just say that out loud?

MY THOUGHTS: No. I think you were just thinking loud inside your mind.

ME: Oh...thank heavens. That was close. :)

ANYHOO...While dealing with this inner conflict I was undoubtedly having, I made a call to my best friend and started to vent just a tad and she asked

"Well what are you gonna do?"

My answer, "I'M GONNA WRITE A PLAY!!"

Her reaction, she laughs.

Not exactly sure why...don't believe I ever asked her why...but for the sake of commentary
LET'S SPECULATE!!

Maybe she laughed because I sound super emotional.
Maybe she laughed because she couldn't imagine how little ol' me would accomplish such a thing.
Maybe she laughed because she found something funny. (That's a theory.)

Well maybe I was too busy being dead serious about writing, directing & producing this idea of mine that I had neither the time or interest to delve into why she was laughing...

DING DING DING!! WE HAVE A WINNER!! lol

THINGS HAPPENED IN THIS ORDER...more or less:

Came up with the idea.
Had absolutely NO BUDGET!!
Held auditions before I had a script of any kind.
Cast for the production. Actors/Actresses/Dancers
No designated rehearsal space.
No performance space.
Still have to get flyers designed and mass produced
Finally secured a performance location
Brought in lights & sound
Brought in a DJ
Was loaned a rehearsal space(#GRATEFUL)
Finished writing the script
Started rehearsals
Used my own furniture for the set
Writer/director/producer/choreographer/location scout/set designer/musical arranger/wardrobe stylist/& the best goes on...

GUESS WHAT ELSE WENT ON?

My stage play LOVE LAUGH & LIVE TO CREATE!!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OVERJOYED...MY ENTIRE FAMILY IS HERE...THE PLAY IS A SUCCESS...THE AUDIENCE ENJOYED THEMSELVES IMMENSELY...THE LIGHTS, THE SOUND, THE CAST...EVERYONE WAS SIMPLY AMAZING!!!!!

IN JUST 3 MONTHS MY IDEA/DREAM BECAME REALITY!!

LET'S NOT LEAVE OUR DREAMS WAITING...GO GET EM'!!
